Kid’s Music Connection

Kids Music Connection is a musical program for young children and their families.  It is held in the church meeting room on Wednesday mornings (during school term time) from 9.30 to 10.30 am.

Welcome to the program

Kid’s Music Connection has been developed to introduce your child to music, singing, instrumental play, dance and creative thinking.

It is staffed by volunteers from the local church, all of whom have a current Working with Children clearance.

Music is one of the most effective tools in helping young children develop skills in listening, language, coordination (gross motor skills, fine motor skills), creativity, comprehension, social skills, spatial awareness and much more.

Sessions

The sessions cover eight to nine weeks in each term, depending on the length of the term.

Door charge (per family)

The door charge is minimal and covers the operating cost of presenting this program.  You contribute only for the days that you attend, not per term.

Participation

It’s really important for you to actively participate with your child in all of the activities.  Please encourage your child and help them if they have difficulty or are reticent.  Sing with them, play with them and develop lots of eye contact.

Behaviour

Please take responsibility for your child’s behaviour.  Keep an eye on them at all times.  The music activities involve lots of movement but indiscriminate running around is discouraged because of dangers to other children.

Morning Tea

At the end of each session, please stay for morning tea with other parents and their children.  This is a great time to meet and chat with others and an ideal opportunity for the children to play together while you relax.
